Central South University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. It is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, covering a large area and an elegant environment. The school was formed in 2000 by the merger of the former Hunan Medical University, Changsha Railway Institute and Central South University of Technology. It has a long history and a full range of disciplines, covering 11 major disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, medicine, management, and art.
The advantages and characteristics of Central South University are mainly reflected in its complete subject systems such as non-ferrous metals, medicine and rail transit. The school has the most complete non-ferrous metals subject system chain in the world, supporting the development of the national non-ferrous metals industry; its rail transit subject system has made important contributions in high-speed railways, urban rail transit and other fields. In addition, the school's 19 disciplines including materials science, engineering, and computer science have entered the top 1% of ESI in the world, providing students with a broad development platform and high-quality educational resources.
